Terms & Conditions

Policies

In our efforts to provide the best service possible for our clients, we have implemented POLICIES that concerns class registrations, cancellations, no shows, etc. These policies will help us ensure that class seats will be managed effectively and enable companies to schedule employees for safety training in an efficient manner.


Registration

Registration is required in advance to participate in any program offered by Response Safety & Rescue Services. If space is available, we will register the participant and send an email confirmation of registration including program start times and details.


Payments are accepted over the phone by either Visa / MasterCard or in person at our facility.
Unfortunately, we DO NOT accept American Express

Program Check-In:  7:45am

If you are registered for a class, you will want to check-in and be seated prior to the start time of your program.

WALK-INS/STANDBYS MAY BE ACCEPTED IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE.

All courses start at  8:00am SHARP


Late Arrivals

Students who arrive LATE may be refused entry and will be charged the full amount for the program.

Extenuating circumstances may be exempt at the discretion of Response Safety & Rescue Services.

Students who fail to attend class without notification (“NO SHOWS”) will forfeit the full course fee.


Course Cancellations/Reschedules

(Open Registration)

All requests for cancellations or reschedules on OPEN REGISTRATION PROGRAMS must be received by Response Safety & Rescue Services Inc. a minimum of two (2) full business days prior to the course commencement date.

Failure to provide two (2) full business days’ notice of your intention to withdraw or reschedule will result in a forfeiture of the full course fee.

YOU MUST RECEIVE A REPLY IN WRITING THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED YOUR REQUEST FOR CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULE TWO (2) FULL BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF THE PROGRAM.


Transfers

You may transfer your registration to another person, or you may apply it to another program scheduled within the next six (6) months. Participants will be responsible for any difference in course cost at the time of the request.

Qualified substitutions will be allowed prior to the course commencement date in lieu of forfeitures and an administrative Reschedule/Transfer Fee of: $25.00 will apply for each transfer or reschedule.


Refunds

Refunds & program transfers are not processed automatically.

Notification of cancellation, transfer, reschedule or refund must be received by phone or e-mail at least two (2) full business days before the start of the course.

Refunds issued for cash payments will be issued by cheque and mailed by Canada Post, or arrangements can be made to be picked up at our facility.

If payment was made by credit card, the payment will be refunded back to the (original) credit card.

Students who fail to attend class without notification (“NO SHOWS”) will also forfeit the full course fee.


Program Cancellations or Postponements by
Response Safety & Rescue Services

Response Safety & Rescue Services reserves the right to cancel or postpone scheduled programs due to unforeseen circumstances.

If a program is canceled or postponed, every effort will be made to notify students by phone or email of cancellations or postponement before commencement date. If program is cancelled and not postponed, participants will receive full reimbursement of the course fee or may request a transfer to another course within a six (6) month period.
Participants will be responsible for any difference in program cost at the time of the request.

Response Safety & Rescue Services is not responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of registration or attendance of a program, e.g., airline tickets, hotel, or car rental. Please contact us prior to making any travel arrangements.


Exceptions for
Inclement Weather

In case of snow or other potentially hazardous weather, Response Safety & Rescue Services may choose to not hold classes if it is deemed unsafe for staff and students.
If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, there will be no cancellation charge, and you will be notified as soon as possible.


Privacy Policy

Response Safety & Rescue Services Inc collects information from all clients/participants registering or attending our programs.

This Information includes; employer name & address, participant’s full name, address, phone number and email addresses which are used for contact and certification purposes.

Response Safety & Rescue Services will not share, rent or sell any personal client information.


Appeals

Participants can appeal any undesirable outcome of their program or certification.

The first attempt will be to speak to the instructor at the end of their class. The instructor will make all reasonable attempts to assist the participant in any area they require further clarification or instruction. If the participant is still dissatisfied with the outcome, they may appeal to the Program Director with a written response.

The participant may be asked to repeat all or a portion of the course at a later date agreed upon by the participant and Response Safety & Rescue Services.

Upon request and if available, a different instructor will instruct the program.
If the participant is again unsuccessful,  he/she will have to re-register into another course and re-pay the original fee.


Complaints

All complaints will be directed to the Management of Response Safety & Rescue Services and will be handled as soon as possible during regular business hours. If a complaint is urgent, instructors will relay this information to administration for immediate attention. Every reasonable attempt will be made to resolve a complaint in a timely and appropriate manor. Complaints can be made by email, phone or in person.


Harassment

Any verbal or physical harassment will not be tolerated.

Participants who harass others, use inappropriate language or make offensive jokes will be asked to leave the class and will not receive a refund or a chance to re-apply.

The participant will not be given their certification if they have not completed the course requirements.
Appeals may be made to Response Safety & Rescue Management only.


Smoking / Littering

This is a privately owned facility and property.
Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas and cigarette receptacles are provided along with garbage cans for trash.

Please RESPECT the property and DO NOT LITTER, this includes the parking lot.


Cancellation Policy

(GROUP)

All requests for cancellation  on GROUP REGISTRATION PROGRAMS must be received by Response Safety & Rescue Training Services Inc. a minimum of ten (10) working days prior to course commencement date.
Such requests must be made by phone or in writing by e-mail to our Calgary office.

Failure to provide at least ten (10) working days notice of your intention to cancel or re-schedule will result in a forfeiture of 50% of the course fee (minimum of $750.00 + any additional fees incurred as a result of logistical planning for the program).

Failure to provide at least five (5) working days notice of your intention to cancel or reschedule will result in a forfeiture of 100% of the course fee + any logistical expenses incurred.

YOU MUST RECEIVE A REPLY IN WRITING THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED YOUR REQUEST FOR CANCELLATION OR RE-SCHEDULE FIVE (5) FULL BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF THE PROGRAM.
