Standard First-Aid RE-CERTIFICATION is a one-day training program which meets the requirements for Federal and a variety of Provincial/Territorial regulations including Occupational Health & Safety for Standard First-Aid.

This comprehensive program covers and reviews  basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who  are looking to renew their knowledge base and skill set for re-certification of the full 2 day Standard First-Aid program.

Due to certain work requirements or commitments, this program allows you to re-certify in one (1) day rather than two (2) days, for the full Standard First-Aid program.

PLEASE NOTE:

Participants must  hold a VALID (Non-Expired) Standard First-Aid Certificate the day of the program.

This re-certification program includes the latest First-Aid and Level “C” CPR guidelines and exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.

The SELF TEACH option is best suited for individuals requiring a general understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations for road transport and like to work at their own pace.

For students that have taken the program before, this is a great way to refresh the participants knowledge for re-certification.

Upon successful completion of the course material and a written examination, the student will be issued a certificate which indicates the level of training and is valid for a period of 3 years.

The Canadian Red Cross – WEFA (Workplace Emergency First Aid) program provides the additional certification that satisfies the WorkSafe BC requirements for OFA  1 (Occupational First Aid) Level 1.

This equivalency  program was designed specifically to meet the requirements of British Columbia (BC) workplaces. It teaches workers how to deal with the most common workplace first-aid emergencies.

Program includes CPR Level A (Adult), choking procedures as well as emergency scene management, dealing with shock, spinal injuries, minor wound management, major bleeding, internal bleeding, poisons and minor burns. Students will also be trained to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

Fall Protection (ESC)


1 Day (6.5 Hours)      Certification: 3 Years


Fall Protection – is a  one-day Energy Safety Canada (ESC) approved program that is designed to give active users a thorough understanding of fall protection including fall arrest and work positioning systems that are available in industries today.

Designed to educate the worker in the planning, use, care and implementation of common fall protection systems, it includes both theory and practical application exercises. Participants will engage in hands-on training activities, including inspecting, fitting, adjusting and connecting fall protection systems and components.

What will I learn in this safety training course?

In this course, the following topics are covered:

  • Why fall protection is important
  • Legislative roles and responsibilities
  • Identifying and assessing fall hazards, hierarchy of controls, and development of fall protection and safe work procedures
  • Types of fall arrest systems, equipment and components

Fall Protection – Level II is a  one-day program that is designed to give active users a thorough understanding of fall protection including fall arrest and work positioning systems that are available in industries today.

This course will ensure that students are well versed in dealing with fall hazards and provide hands-on experience/applications with different types of fall protection equipment.

Along with the hands-on techniques, the instructor demonstrates three (3) actual drop tests with a CSA 220 lb. test weight. One of the drop tests demonstrated is to deploy a shock absorber for class discussion.

Technical Rescue LEVEL II



5 Days (45 Hours)      Certification: 2 Years


Technical Rescue – Level II (Advanced) is a five-day program designed for team leaders and people who are in a discipline where they must direct others on a rescue team.

Technical Rescue – Level I is a prerequisite to this course.

Course content will include an in depth look at the advantages and disadvantages of different systems and equipment.

These topics will include physics and dynamics, how to choose the right method of rigging based on actual tests, choice of equipment and limitations. Also included will be maintaining safety factors in high risk areas, utilizing unskilled people in complex situations and extreme heights, depths and traverses.

Students will be working in both industrial and wilderness settings during the course. Upon successful completion of the program, hands-on skills and written examination, the student will be certified for a period of two years.

Full participation, extensive hands-on demonstrations and a written examination are required to successfully complete the program and receive certification which is valid for 2 years.
